[Zhang Jinhua of China-SAE: The scale of promotion and application of fuel cell vehicles in China has significantly expanded]Zhang Jinhua, Chairman of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (China-SAE) and Executive Vice Chairman of the International Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Association, stated that the scale of promotion and application of fuel cell vehicles in China has significantly expanded, with cumulative promotion exceeding 28,000 units by the end of 2024. Regarding the next steps in the development of fuel cell vehicles in China, Zhang Jinhua suggested the following: First, promoting demonstration applications in typical scenarios is crucial, strengthening the demonstration and implementation of fuel cell vehicles in medium-to-long-distance, high-intensity scenarios such as trunk logistics, intercity cold chain transportation, and mining and port areas. Second, optimizing policy support methods is key, providing continuous support in multiple aspects including fiscal and taxation policies, infrastructure demonstration operations, etc. In particular, it is necessary to promote the transfer of financial support involved in relevant demonstration and promotion policies from the vehicle purchase stage to the usage stage. Third, strengthening technological innovation and international cooperation is a priority, focusing on high-temperature, high-load nuclear fuel cell stacks, large-power, long-life fuel cell systems, and large-capacity, low-cost hydrogen storage systems. Fourth, expanding application scenarios and creating demonstration projects are supportive, promoting their demonstration applications in fields such as energy storage and chemical engineering. The project will be constructed in three phases, with the first phase being the scientific research and breakthrough stage, and the second and third phases planning to construct production lines for new materials for lithium metal batteries with annual capacities of 1,000 tons and 2,000 tons, respectively. The project cooperation period is from June 2025 to May 2030. Lithium metal battery materials offer significant advantages such as high specific capacity, making them one of the important raw materials for high-performance batteries, especially solid-state batteries, aligning with the development trend of the new energy industry's upgrading. The company's existing products do not involve relevant technologies, nor have they formed solid-state battery production processes or production lines. Additionally, the company has not granted any licenses for the aforementioned patents externally and has no practical application scenarios or actual production capacity for solid-state batteries.
